Skydive Cairns - The best thing I have done in my life!
Everything started with a phone call from Tammy my co-worker at TTS.
She asked me if I tried skydiving before as she would like to give it a go.
I told her that I did it once and it was… Magic!… And that I would be interested to do it again.
I don’t know how (!?!?!) but Louise, another co-worker, ended up as being part of this wonderful experience….
So Tammy, Louise and I met at the Skydive shop at 09.00am last Monday.
It was THE perfect day: No wind, no clouds at all, just perfect.
First we had to fill in a bit of paperwork. My tandem/instructor was Ronnie and he gave me all the instructions on how to become a good skydiver (I wish!). I could already feel the adrenalin and was looking forward to this jump!
Time to get to the airport where our plane (a Turbine powered Cresco: Spacious, fast, custom built) was ready to take off. On board we had: The pilot (of course), 3 crazy girls (us), our 3 tandems/instructors and 3 professional camera crew.
The plane took off and we enjoyed the beautiful scenery of the city of Cairns, the Rainforest and the Reef, especially Tammy who was sitting next to the exit (How scary is that!!!!)
After 10 minutes we were already reaching 14 000 feet and our jump location.
Go Tammy Go! I was next and Louise was the last one.
I sat on the exit/stairs of the plane, flashed a big smile to the camerawoman… and off we jumped. The feeling was just amazing, you will only understand when you try it. Not scary at all just the adrenalin pumping.
I felt like a little fish swimming in the air (If you watch the video you will understand what I mean). After the minute freefall Ronnie opened the parachute and we were flying in the sky, it was so peaceful and we enjoyed the views for 5-6 minutes before landing.
After you experienced this kind of feeling/emotions you really are another person.
In my opinion we should go skydiving every morning before work…
